I have backed up infinite painter and it has projects on it but it is not restoring the works only the app installed with default settings, but the .data file on my computer still obviously has the data/projects as its almost 6GBs (C:\Users\-\Documents\Samsung\SmartSwitch\backup\phone id\phone id\phone id\APKFILE -> (name of app i'm trying to restore ).data

I have completely uninstalled infinite painter and cleared it's cache etc. and it is still only restoring to default on re-install and i cannot get the files to appear.

What tool do i use to open the .data file and extract the .proj files so i can manually restore them (ideally) or how do i get the app to restore and have it's settings/pre-loaded projects to maintain during the restoration via smart switch. On the installation on my phone the files are usually just stored under the Android/Data/(nameofapp)/.../project files so i'm confused why it's bundled this way

Thanks.

Hi Jethi,

Sorry to hear that you're experiencing this, I can relate to issues with project files.

You should be able to access the files via File Manager + - however, before doing so please create additional backups before using the app if you are unfamiliar with it, just in case.

If you have already completed the app's standard restoration process and it's not working, we would suggest reaching out to Infinite Painter's support team for further assistance.

Let me know how you go.

i cannot access the files on my pc because they are all packed  in an inaccessible .data file. I already contacted infinite painter and they said they had no idea (paraphrased) and to ask hereIllustration2.png

Hi Jethi,

With the .data file, rename it to a .tar file then unpack it using Winrar or 7zip - from there you'll be able to extract the .proj files and put it back onto your device. From that point, you can use File Manager to manage the files you've extracted.

Please create backups before proceeding with this process.

Let me know how that goes for you.

Didn't work, doesn't register as an archive with winrar or 7zip. tried with two different apps .data files with same result.
