When I sync contacts using Smart Switch, each of the contacts are duplicated in the Windows Outlook contacts folder in my desktop computer so I can have a dozen similar contact entries for the same person.  Also, they're duplicated in the S7 in separate phone sections in the single display of the contact.  In other words, when I open the contact in the S7, there are many repeating instances of PHONE pages all the same for that contact.    It seems like each time I sync, another similar contact is repeated into both the S7 and Outlook.

How do I stop that?

I suggest you look at your settings for forwarding in both Outlook and gmail. You may be creating a loop. In Samsung contacts you will find contacts are created in multiple places such as phone memory, sim card memory, gmail, Outlook. When opening contacts in Samsung click in top left and you may (I can't remember) be able to open these lists individually. You will need to check your settings including changing the default mail box. I have 4/5 different contact lists which have gmail as the default sync setting. I have the parallel situation with emails, because I don't get too many duplicate emails I can't be bothered fixing my problem because the problem is small. Be careful because you will occasionally get a system prod to merge contacts. If you choose the wrong option you will overwrite the latest contact with an old one from a different contact list. So, messy but easy to fix by reading up on Google and understanding which contact list is the default.

Hi @AlanKl, thanks for reaching out. For this, I suggest looking into Microsoft Support for how to manage Outlook contacts.
