How to activate split screen button?

I remember there being a split screen button that had a maximum of 4 apps. It was very useful for when I needed to open another app at the same time so I don't have to press the three lines button to activate split screen, potentially disconnecting me from an online game. When I updated, it was gone. Can anyone tell me how I bring it back? Or was it removed?

Settings has a lot of wonders. You can simply search the keyword and viola! Hope that helps.
