Samsung sites and all over the net says Samsung M12 has NFC. And it should be under settings, connections.

My unit doesn't have it. Bakit kaya?

You mean if i change the OS that NFC switch will appear? And does it mean there are diff OS versions of M12? Why would sasmung and all sites even place steps in how to activate it, if its limited by the OS anyway?

Would appreciate leads on how to rectify this. 🙂

Thanks!!

Unfortunately, it's hardware, not software. NFC is hardware.

So you mean Samsung cheated me. Because in its specs, it does include NFC.

Bummer.

According to GSMArena, it comes with NFC. However, you cannot guarantee that the information there is 100% correct. Though some features may vary by country. You should have contacted Samsung Philippines first.

Hello, artsypartsy!

Irvin42 is right. Some features of a phone model vary from country. Unfortunately, the Philippine version (XTC) of the Samsung Galaxy M12 doesn't have an NFC feature since the country's rollout of NFC-enabled technologies (especially in payment and transportation-related transactions) is still limited. I hope this information might help you understand how each phone model varies from country to country. Thanks!

When I bought this model, one reason is because of its NFC feature for such a lower-tier phones like M12. It's unfair that it is more expensive buying M12 without NFC here in PH than buying the same model but with NFC in SG.. And don't tell us due to Ph transactional usage limitation is the reason why we have this variant. It's bad business desicion for a company to say that this country who's in the middle of transitioning to cashless transactions is still limited and thus does not need cheaper phones with NFC enable.
