Currently, these applications are on my S24, technically what comes pre installed are as follows:

Samsung Messages
Google Messages
Samsung Contacts
Samsung Phone

The other two Google apps I've just installed just to see how it would feel like and honestly I am gravitating more towards the Samsung App than Google's.

So i'd like to know from the Community/ Support which applications are more often used.

I personally want to ditch all Google Apps and stick with Samsung, however the "RCS" function for the Samsung app just keeps staying "restart failed" I do recall experiencing this with my previous Galaxy devices years ago, and have tried to troubleshoot but it seems this dilema still exists.

Anyone has a quick fix for this? Because it is quite an eyesore to see most Samsung apps then there is 1 Google app that is off in terms of visuals.

I actuallu considered of installing and using the Google counterparts however, some of the Samsung apps can't be uninstalled or disabled so it is just increasing the storage consumption.

Any helpful tips on this would be greatly appreciated 😃

Hey christiansengco,

You can disable default apps from the Apps option in Settings. You may also hold down the icon, press the info button, force stop the app, and set your preferred Messaging app as default. You can take it out of the home screen, as well.

Unfortunately, you won't be able to remove default apps from the app drawer without root access (which voids any warranties.) I suggest putting them in a folder first so they're out of sight.

Hope this helps!

Don't get me wrong DD, I honestly prefer the Samsung apps over Google as they do use the "Dark mode" properly, my ownly concern is the RCS function of the Samsung messages app, for reason I can't get it to work.

It always indicates an orage dot but after numerous attempts it just says "restart failed"

Yup, RCS failing is a known issue in the Philippines. (I use Google Messages if I really need to send something via RCS - otherwise most people in the PH just use FB Messenger / Viber anyway, so I don't really get to use it as much)

It might be a while before we see a fix for the native app, but for now please keep your phone updated to make sure you don't miss out when it does drop. :)

I completely understand and feel your pain on having to deal with two totally different systems or rather styles of the same apps however I have not  had luck enough to even figure out the difference between the two Google has been the main company that phones have been using since the start of cell phones Samsung wants a piece of that action they want their own internet browser they want the recordings of your conversations that you have to allow to use certain apps and here's the biggie I am positive is it is because the company that has the most information on actual human conversations is going to be the one that creates the best artificial intelligence systems not to mention more lifelike conversations up to and including robots that people are not going to like moving around their house and taking up space if they operate is as good as the best cell phone out there they need more information from every human voice so that this machine can adapt to everyone no one really has a chance at this point I don't think of catching up the Google but they're going to try and why not I think the one UI app update excuse me phone update was strictly well I think it's pretty obvious and almost a fact I pretty sure anyhow I don't know that for sure but it was because meta had thought that they were ready to challenge Google they wanted all their apps to sync together in our phones to do the processing of that rather than them have to make their own computers with the big enough storage and better chips and just better everything and lot more of it than what they currently have or talking a lot of money versus installing an app update on everybody's phone because everybody uses Facebook or one of the four meta apps so social media apps My dad for instance is 74 he  absolutely hated smartphones but he never was taught and he didn't know how to begin to learn It was very foreign to somebody his age and that's why they have the simplified version on on your Samsung phone but I know this I am going to go with whoever is winning every year since smartphones became a thing and that company is Google it is not Samsung and it is not the metaverse It is Google nobody can challenge to not keep Google the main Android cohesiveness with however you would say that Android apps were made to work with Google before they were made to work with Samsung or obviously meta they're not going to change that unless one of the other companies somehow proves that they have not only beaten Google in even four fiscal quarters until they prove they've killed Google that they've came out with something that Google hasn't till they've become not just Google but more Google they need to become something better than Google and they're still chasing Google's tails which means your phone is never going to adapt to your Samsung apps as well as it will the Google apps I believe everything I've said is truth I'm not in that industry as far as my career but I know I use the *** out of my smartphone and I just think Google is so much easier but that's my experience with it I never really gave the Samsung apps much chance because from the very beginning of signing in and creating an account It was frustrating that it wasn't the same and as easily understood as the Google ones at least for me and knowing what I believe to be true is enough for me to say okay I'll make a Samsung account under a different email address but I'm not going to allow any of their apps to run if I can help it at least none that I frequently use that Google also has obviously there's certain necessary apps to the phone itself that are going to be made by Samsung that Google's not trying to get in the business of they don't want to make phones that's not saying they didn't start to try to get the piece of that pie and by the way they made one hell of looks go at it. Everyone I know that owns a pixel from what it sounds they've got as much as my $1,000 galaxy for 40% of the cost I'm sure there's something in there that's being missed and not calculated but they took a chunk and they did something different and that's why they were able to take a bite though like they did if Samsung or meta was going to take a good bite out of Google's specialty they would have done it by now and they wouldn't have came out with sorry *** attempts bottom line is they can't at least for now even have a chance I would encourage you to give Google apps a chance
