SmartTag+ help needed!

My friend gave me a SmartTag+. But he did not remove it from his SmartThings before selling his phone. Now he cannot remove the tag from his account, which results in me being unable to link it to my account. Does anyone have a solution for this please. Thanks! 🙏

Sorry... The next solution would be ask him/her buy a set of new Smart Tags...

Else if so easily can be unlinked from original owner without accessing from the original owner smart things, then every thief who steal stuff that has smart tags will get a smart tag for free... 🤣
