Shapes/artefacts being added to pdf file in Galaxy Notes App

For some unknown reason, when I use the copy and paste commands in the Notes app, I am getting geometric (rounded square) artefacts which I am unable to select to delete.

Does anyone know how to fix this?

Do you get it if you paste as plain text without formatting? What's source of copy from.? Screenshot would be great

I get the artefacts from selecting the small arrow heads and duplicating them.

I still can't determine what icon I need to select so that I can even select said artefacts for deletion (eraser icon doesn't select it)
