Tips & TricksConfigure the picture settings for your Samsung TV to suit your preference and in turn, enhance your viewing experience. You can change the Picture Size to one that suits your liking as well as adjust the Zoom/Position of the picture. Follow the guide below to learn how to do so.

Accessing Picture Size Settings
1. Press the Menu button on your remote control and then select Settings.
By model year:
- 2016 - 2021 model TVs: Settings > Picture > Picture Size Settings
- 2014 - 2015 model TVs: Menu/123 > Menu > Picture > Picture Size
2. Choose Picture and the Picture Size Setting
3. Here you can access the Picture Size Settings
Warning: Do not watch your TV in 4:3 mode for extended periods of time. This can cause black bars to "burn in" to the screen and appear as temporary or permanent after-images on the display.
Picture Size:
- Change the size of the picture displayed on the TV screen to 16:9 Standard, Custom or 4:3
- Supported Picture Sizes differ with the input signal
Fit to Screen:
- Fitting the picture to the screen
- This function may not be supported depending on the Picture Size setting or the broadcast signals
Zoom and Position:
- Adjusting the picture size and/or position
- This function is available only if Picture Size is set to Custom
Please Note: Depending on the specific TV model, 4:3 mode may not be available when an external device is connected to the TV via a Component connector or an HDMI connector. See the table at the bottom of the page for information on Picture Size and Input Sources.
Picture Size and Input Signals
The available Picture Size on your Samsung TV largely depends on the input or source you have selected. The table below lists the available picture size for each of the inputs available. Make sure the TV is on the appropriate Source before trying to change the Picture Size.
