It's a beneficial feature, although the numerous notifications can sometimes be overwhelming and distracting. Fortunately, you can disable them.
Open the calendar
At very bottom to look for
Manage calendars
Tab on manage calendar
Then at the bottom of this section to look for app events reminder. Toggle to the left it will stop activate all events
