Concerns over the invasion of privacy and the loss of data ownership have become increasingly common. As technology continues to become further embedded in our everyday lives, our communication increasingly takes place online – which often means sharing sensitive information over the Internet.

It can be hard to know the right way to do this. For example, you might have concerns around the security of third-party messaging platforms. Or you might be worried that your sensitive information and data could be lost or compromised in the event of a server attack or the loss of your phone. When connecting to another device, you might also worry about who can see your data, and how to keep it secure.

At Samsung, we’ve thought of all this and made it our mission to help keep you protected so you can safely and comfortably share your data.

Private Sharing with Quick Share

Ever been in a situation like this? You want to share pictures of your newborn baby, or a video from your recent holiday, but don’t want to risk them somehow ending up online or visible to anyone other than those you intended.

Samsung Galaxy has a built-in solution to this problem: Quick Share’s Private Sharing, a privacy-preserving file-sharing function that lets you share your data with peace of mind.

With Private Sharing, you and you alone own the data. You can ensure that only the designated recipients can open the files you send – no one else. You can also set permissions and expiration dates for the data, so it’s only viewable for a limited amount of time. Further, you can give read-only access without the ability to re-share; revoke the data access whenever you like; restrict screenshotting, and see when the recipient received and opened the file.

Private Sharing makes it safe and easy to share your content, and you can share up to 20 files at once with a total size of up to 200MB.[1] And of course, all your files are encrypted when shared, courtesy of blockchain-based encryption technology.

To use Private Sharing, select the file you want to send and tap the Share icon. Tap Quick Share, followed by the three dots for more options in the top right corner. Then select Turn on Private Sharing. Once the message has been sent, you can check what you’ve sent and change the expiration date or revoke sharing permissions.

No more worries about misfiring a private photo or file. With Quick Share’s Private Sharing, you’re in control of your data and whom you choose to share it with, with visibility into file share status every step of the way.

Data Protection with End-to-End Encryption

Starting with the Galaxy S24, Enhanced Data Protection offers additional protection for Galaxy devices when you sync or back up your data with Samsung Cloud.[2] This feature helps mitigate against the risk of data loss via end-to-end encryption (E2EE), which ensures data can only be encrypted or decrypted on your device and cannot be seen by anyone but you.

When you activate Enhanced Data Protection, you’ll be prompted to write down a recovery code to help prevent the loss of your data in the event you lose your device.

To use Enhanced Data Protection, open the Samsung Cloud app, tap the three dots for more options, choose Settings, and then Enhanced Data Protection. From here, you can choose to encrypt backup or synced data. Alternatively, you can open your device Settings and go to Security and Privacy to find this feature.

End-to-end encrypted data is only accessible on devices using the Enhanced Data Protection feature, and cannot be accessed by anyone else, including Samsung.

You are the first positive n may renew my vigur to keep on trying. I am attempting to bring in programs to suport patients generaly and in mental health so the events of misdiagnosis and aged care misadventure are less likely to ocure. I learnt the hard way and now feel its my due to prevent the frail in our comunity being used for profit. I spent 8 yrs fighting incorect diagnosis n depo treatments nothing wrong with me. Noone should be put through like situation so I will impliments some things to prevent these type of events. I have a few good ideas . See what happens when the issue is highlighted maybe there are others that need to see the lijght ay yhe end of yhe tunnel. I will do all I can

Do you have any sugestions on how to diagnose the intentions of suprise apps before options are removed in settings i see double tittle when i try to remove the delete option disapears the default apps change and gain links background process removes tech controls back to windows 7 n program name is windows 11 product. The send to funtion in cloud disapears so i cant send document n media to memory stick or hard drive. Has sife effect of sharing my files intended to be stored on stick n i start loosing my cloud files as i go. Only way out is to reverse my actions n try not use my desktop apps that arnt allways what they apear to be. I know it had something to do with steam acc in business program. Did i bite more than i shouldv or someone dorsnt like me. All my online history in chrome has been sent to edge n my google password were inserted into tabs making emails change from admin control to function meant for peasantry. I tried making new user acc till antivirus says i have false positives n now im climing into backroom in our house n realise stripping was done to the house to reduce the square footage n same was done to my partners computer after he died n i was left alone to have froends suported me in what followed as i had lost his father sixmonths befotehand n greed became the ajenda that followed. Im starting to wonder if thier influence has reached this data program My father and mother went beforehand n i have just discovered my old businrss left me involved in purchase of house in the isle of man with my dad. My time is in demand now. Im trying to keep my cool am attempting to use an acer laptop network adapter doesnt work. Will use cd to install programs for office develop my charity program use research from our large library to create solutions n i want to create an Ai program that can tell patients when something is inapropriate n explain to patients the best process to take to return care to safe afordable solutions when no doctor or nurse will speak up n the frail are used as fodder with noone to turn to. I know more than you'd believe of hidden agendas. When things go wrong no one is looking out for the patient with blind faith expecting those beyond reproach to leave you behind in their dust. I want all patients to be under constant camera footage except in their private areas. For diagnosises to proven with test results for treatment to improve health not be for research to feather the profesionals pocket while billing medicare at the patients expense n totaly unrelated to the process necessay to access recovery thats not allways given the attention it deserves. Now that its legal to give lethal injection it only requires aproval from 2 drs n can seem desirable when faced with medical expenses n not enough suport for the many disabled patients. There are diag oseses that are based on theory cant be proven but i have seen it being used to take freedom from the infirm while mentaly still fully fun tional. Ive seen sedatives being used to make quiet those thatd like to protest untill their forced to comply left to fall into depresion because money is controling a path to misadventure n many have no idea its happe ing. I've seen a phy ologist and nurses under her farm patients without family take life insurance policys out n see them institutionalised with no hope on the horison thanking the people responsible for the abuses while under their care. Sedating then when family arives to look much worse than necessary. There are good honest drs n nurses who have to .muddle through making the most of a age population that had no other adjenda available to them. I truely hope i dont have to witness anymore so instead am looking at ways we can make logical heap solutions with more social workers available to offer good advice that wont get discused any other way. I believe respect is earned so make more information available so when patients run into trouble they have a process to follow. Not hidden.
