Samsung soundbar cycles on/off automatically

Hi, 

I have a Q701T soundbar which has been working perfectly fine until I returned from a holiday.

Since coming back I turned the tv on as usual and my soundbar automatically turned off within 2 minutes and then back on again and continually cycled through this.

After reading a number of posts on the forum (and Reddit!), this seems to be a recent issue on Samsung soundbars and I have done the following to try and self troubleshoot:

  • Turned the device on and off;
  • Left the device unplugged from all power sources over night;
  • Took out batteries from the remote;
  • Disconnected the HDMI chord and tried to connect to the tv (also Samsung) via Bluetooth and wifi;
  • Hard reset (pressing - & + at the same time until seeing INT on the display/holding the settings button on the remote until seeing INT). I also did a hard reset with the wifi off and HDMI chord disconnected so the speaker didn't try to connect to wifi (which I saw was an issue with the 900 series soundbars);
  • Checked for updates on smart things.

Nothing seems to work and I get increasingly frustrated as half the trouble of trying to connect different ways, connecting to smart things and doing a hard reset is that the speaker turns off automatically midway through a process!

Does anyone else have any other ideas to try and get it to work like normal again?

Based on what you've described, I recommend for you to head into your nearest authorised service centre with your proof of purchase so that we can take a closer look into this. Please be aware that due to our Privacy Policy, your device may be factory reset before being assessed. I highly recommend backing up your device via Smart Switch, OneDrive and/or Google to ensure none of your data is lost.
