I am reasonably committed to having a dual sim. I have needed it and used it when on the Hume Highway when my son hit a kangaroo some years ago. Surprisingly Telstra was out of range and Amaysim (Optus) was in range, only about 20km from Yass. In semi-retirement I can't justify buying a high end phone to replace my J8.
Samsung Australia has misjudged the desire for A54 having a dual sim. The advertisements for grey market A54 dual sim models is huge. When searching for this model advertisements are everywhere. Apart from checking I obtain one with the right model number and the lack of Samsung Australia support for grey models., it looks like I have to go to the grey market. I have done this once before and, given the appalling service support mentioned frequently in this forum,, I believe that this is the best option.
So, are there other members of this forum who can comment on any problems they have had with a grey model? For the record I do have a Tablet A7 sourced from Samsung Australia.

Grey market products have no warranty. So if you have any issues, you will be out of pocket.
Updates can sometimes be a lot slower too.

Thank you. Good points. I have used the warranty for my Tab A7. I might still be tempted because of the lack of the Samsung Australia model, usimg my J8 as a backup to cater for slow service times, whether by Samsung or and independent repairer. Thank you again.
