Dear

I hope Samsung helps me here, I hope they help other customers as well to get smart with the partnership policies and commitment that Samsung has with its customers.

Almost 2 months ago I downloaded the Assurion app to check the value of my S21 Ultra for trade-in because I wanted to buy the S22 Ultra. But when I went to see the trade-in with bonus and other promotions, the price was still too high for me, so I gave up and didn't make the purchase. The trade-in code expired and Assurion returned the money that was outstanding in my bank, this occurred in May 2022.

However, about 3 weeks ago, Assurion started to send me an email that would make a debit on my account because I purchased the S22 Ultra on the Samsung website, I sent an email to Assurion and they said it was for conversation with Samsung, I called and sent an email for Samsung, but they said it was to talk to Assurion, I felt like a clown because Assurion said I needed to solve it with Samsung and Samsung said I needed to solve it with Assurion.

Nobody solved anything and Assurion deducted $710 from my account and I didn't buy a cell phone and this directly impacted my monthly expenses because I'm a student and everyone knows how high our life and cost is here.

Samsung respect their customer, I have all Samsung devices, but my desire is to sell and change brands due to lack of respect for the customer, but I don't have the money for that, I just want them to solve this, make me believe that they respect your customers.

I know that both companies are reliable and offer a great service, I had some friends who also did this procedure, but in my case I gave up and canceled everything and everything was going well until a few weeks ago, because that's where I got this surprise from Assurion discounting $710 from my bank account claiming Samsung told them I bought the S22 Ultra, so I feel like I'm in a scam as I haven't bought anything and I'm still having to pay. I'll wait and see if Laura from Samsung can help me as this money is essential for me.

It's been 2 weeks and no solution to my problem, each email you send me I get more scared because they identified that my Trade-in ID was used in a purchase on the Samsung website but they can't see who it was and ask Assurion to return the money, in short, increasingly disappointed with Samsung and its partner Assurion that they used allowed my data to be misused and I only used the Samsung website and the Assurion app, where is the protection of customer data in all this? Where is the respect with the customer who trusts and thinks companies are safe.

Please solve my problems, it's been more than 1 month since Assurion deducted the amount of $710 from my account and no one solves it.

Hey @KleFerOli,

Go straight to your bank!

That is bad news for you, I would not deal with Asurion. Instead, go straight to your bank and report the charge. They can reverse the payment and ban Asurion from making future charges to your account. It is a burden on them to provide evidence that you bought a device, not you to provide evidence you did not.

There are heaps of threads on this website how poor the service with Asurion is. You can also find some contact the Ombusdman who can review your case, you can find some further information in this thread https://r1.community.samsung.com/t5/discussion/samsung-trade-in-asurion-issue-scam/m-p/18613594

Hi @Kibyto, Thanks for the information, I had already done this at my bank but they didn't do it for weeks, but last Friday they resolved it and returned my money that was improperly withdrawn. I had already seen other posts here and in other communities talking about situations similar to this Assurion. I will never try to do this trade-in again or will I do it and then cancel my bank card.

I am going through exact same issue, i Just wanted to check how much does a new Fold 4 cost me if i trade in my device, i got the tradein from the app, added it on the samsung website to check final amount to pay after all other promo applied, decided to delete the cart and not go ahead with the purchase. After 3 weeks, i receive email from Asurion asking for me to return the device to them as a part of the tradein which i never did, I never bought a phone, i email them and they said, Samsung has already accepted the trade in ID so not much they can do, after 1 week they deducted $585 from my account, $525 for the device and $60 penalty for not returning my device.

Samsung store is hopeless, visited them 3 times and not much they can do. Hypothetically speaking, even if i returned them my device how are they going to credit me with trade in amount when i have never bought a new device.

Mine were resolved after almost 2 months, I recommend you create a new topic with an aggressive title that the people at Samsung will see and answer you, even if they say they will analyze it, keep updating your post every week to be in evidence that a time they will solve. Good luck and I hope it works out, I personally never use Trade-in again.
