Finally a bell for one UI 4..... An update that might come this month if I'm lucky. I feel like the last galaxy s21 ultra user in the world to get it. The whole reason I stopped buying Samsung years ago was due to poor update rollout & too many model variants. I'm paying for it by getting back on the hook. Super annoyed. Even the beta isn't available for me. Checking for update every hour.

Waiting can be a pain, but it will come.

You can try checking for the update when connected to WiFi.
Also, I've personally found rebooting the phone then checking can help, but of course YMMV.

Hi @LuckyLukey, thanks for your feedback. I have taken your feedback regarding updates and the Beta program and passed it on internally to the relevant department.

Thanks... Any rough guess when the update will be rolled out to the TGY/Hong Kong Snapdragon variant? I didn't purchase a local S21U, as only Exynos was available & had heard plenty of reasons to avoid... Another reason I'm annoyed. Currently enjoying Android 12 on my old Pixel 3 XL, which I purchased in October 2018 🤣

This is beyond ridiculous. I've read in a Taiwan members post this could be delayed until January. Not even a security patch for two months. I'm think I'm going to trade this thing for Google pixel 6 pro. I'll probably make money and be much much happier. Goodbye Samsung AGAIN. Flagship phone... Not really.

Will all due respect you chose to buy a handset from another market, only to find out the update in that market (Taiwan/HK/China) hasn't started yet.

Had you bought an Australian handset, this wouldn't be an issue.

Have you tried reaching out to Samsung HK?
Samsung AU has no control or influence on other regions plans etc.

The issue would then be the Exynos chipset & network locks. Either way, I can't have an ideal situation in Australia. I took advice from end users, as I'll do again... Just probably with another brand. I purchased the phone I believed was better. There really shouldn't be such variants of the same phone - this is the real problem. They should make them global like other brands, especially with that price tag. Tell me if you think different & explain why please.

Not sure what network locks you're referring to.
As far as I know, Aus carriers generally don't lock their premium Android handsets anymore.
Though telstra wouldn't surprise me.

As for the Exynos 2100 vs Snapdragon 888, many reviews showed them being mostly on par.
For regular day to day use, most wouldn't notice a difference.

I have devices with both and if you didn't know the specs, you'd likely not notice either.

I'm not sure why they often use 2 cpu models for some of their phone lines, as I don't work for Samsung.

I know that Samsung's mobile division buys the Exynos processors from Samsung LSI, so it could be pricing reasons?
I also know that Samsung LSI works with Qualcomm, so that could be a factor as well.

I was also getting regular updates until now.... Over 3 months without even a security patch is pretty poor for a flagship phone. You can't argue with that, no matter where it's from.
