Phone Contacts

It surprises and annoys me when I enter a new phone contact and it does NOT appear EXACTLY as I entered it. For example, for company XYZ and contact John I enter XYZ John which seems reasonable to me as I could have more than one contact for the company and I want to have them listed 'sorted' by the company. But the list actually shows John, XYZ. And with the additional comma which I never entered.

Any ideas why this is so and is there any way to get around this nuisance?

You need to change the settings.
With the Contact app open, tap of the 3 bars on the top left, then tap on the gear icon.
In here, you can change the Name Format.
