Reset the phone and see if it occurs in a clean state.
As already suggested, try changing the touch screen sensitivity.
If appropriate, you could also buy a Bluetooth mouse to use instead of the touchscreen if you are having troubles beyond the on screen keyboard.
In case it helps you might find adjusting the sensitivity to be an option. Not sure it is available on the a14. Go to Settings, Search option, type in sensitivity. It may have another name, look under display, also search touch screen. Finally Google the problem.
