Galaxy AI restarted the phone, checked for updates and searched the net. The solution was to
Go to Settings - Accounts and backup - Restore data - Choose my device name - Untick All at the top - Select Home Screen (note it also selected Apps) - Restore.
All my app icons came back. I had to remove and put back a couple of widgets that no longer displayed.
This worked for me.

Galaxy ASadly the same thing happened to my phone today. I tried this fix and it didn't work for me. Wish it had. Hate the update.

Galaxy AIt seems that the latest update removed that option. Now there is no way to restore anything.

Galaxy AMy Z Flip5 also lost all the home screen icons after UI 6. I still have the restore function but it goes almost to the end and then gives me an error that it couldn't restore data. So that fix didn't work.
Any other options?

Galaxy AUodated to 5.1 and my entire home screen disappeared. The only thing that remained was my wallpaper. Every app is gone. I did the account settings, restore home screen and apps and it won't allow me to stating I don't have enough storage to complete the process. Every update causes me issues. Usually I'm unable to charge my phone but this time it took my home screen 🙄 Please help!
