Hello TheRabbits,

Thank you for reaching out to us and we are here to help.

Before we begin, ensure that your device is up-to-date with the latest Software updates.

Settings > About Phone > Software Updates > Download, if available > Install > Follow on-screen notifications/messages.

Moving on, we can try the following steps in order to restore your Eye Comfort Shield feature and its full functionalities.

Mainly, the eye comfort shield feature may help you sleep better and reduce eye strain and you can set a schedule to automatically turn this feature on and off.

  • From Settings, tap Display > Eye comfort shield, and then choose one of the following options:
    • Tap the toggle to enable this feature.
    • Tap Adaptive to automatically adjust your screens color temperature based on your usage patterns and the time of day.
    • Tap Custom to set a schedule for when Eye comfort shield should be enabled.
      • Tap Set schedule and choose Always on, Sunset to sunrise, or Custom.
      • Drag the Color temperature slider to set the opacity of the filter.

Unable to turn on Eye comfort shield on Samsung phone or tablet

If your Galaxy device has the Color adjustment or Color inversion options enabled in Accessibility settings, the Eye comfort shield or Blue light filter will be unavailable. To enable these features, you will need to disable Color adjustment and Color inversion.

Navigate to Accessibility.

Navigate to Settings, and then swipe to and tap Accessibility.

Turn off Color inversion.

Tap Visibility Enhancements, and then tap the switch next to Color inversion to turn it off if needed.

Turn off the color filter.

While still in Visibility Enhancements, tap Add color filter, and then tap the switch at the top to disable the feature if it is turned on.

Not all Galaxy devices have Color adjustment options.

Turn off the Color adjustment settings.

Tap Color adjustment or Color correction and then tap the switch to disable it. Now, Eye comfort shield will be available.

I've tried that but it's still greyed out the same. BTW it only happened right after updating to Android 12 One UI 4.Screenshot_20220906-122036_Samsung Members_16139_1662438036.jpg
