Hi. I'd like to ask if the Galaxy A72 is really safe to use when swimming? Is there a time limit to how long i should use it? How can I ensure that the phone will not get damaged in any way?  (I'd just like to make sure)

Thank you!

I don't recommend dipping it or using it when swimming at all. Use the IP Rating for accidental water splashes only as even though they have said they can be submerged to a specific depth of water, remember that this has been done in the lab and different factors will affect its effectiveness once you use it in the real world.

TLDR: Don't risk it, and not use it in the water at all.

Great day! Galaxy A52 and A72 are IP67-certified, meaning they provide full peace of mind during everyday usage. The “6” in IP67 rating denotes dust-resistance capability: 5/1000cm, or about 50㎛. The “7” denotes water-resistance, meaning that the device is protected for 30 minutes at a depth of one meter. We wanted to make sure that you have a full peace of mind during daily usage. However, please still take good care of your smartphone and do not drop on the floor or in water. The new Galaxy A devices have a quad camera and one LED lens, adding five extra points to cover dust and water resistance. Naturally, we had to put in significant efforts from the initial design stage. Many developers put their heads together to devise new parts and applications, evaluate the structural design, or make new testing and assembling equipment, etc., all to produce the unique and fine design of the Galaxy A Series with dust and water resistance. I hope you will enjoy your Galaxy A Series freely.

All waterproof devices has its own limit of water soaking, the least 1 meter for 30 minutes. Beyond that, expect water accumulation inside. Your phones has its own tiny openings too in order to operate it perfectly and these holes of opening can't hold waterproofing no matter how ip68 it is more than the given range of time protection given.

People should know what's the difference between water proof and water resistant.

being water resistant doesn't mean it is to be used with/under water.

True, but there are advertisments by celebs that use this same phone in the pool. Just wanted to ask to confirm and make sure. Thanks anyways!

Ads were made only to attract buyers and mostly are deceitful.

A72 has IP67 rating which means it is water resistant. But it is not advisable to deliberately use it or plunge it into waters. IP ratings are only there to avoid accidental damages.

Remember water damage is not covered by the warranty provided.
