Hello pauconner,

We are sorry to hear about your experience with the recent updates on your Samsung Galaxy A11 having multiple issues ranging from lag to ghost touch, and we apologize for the inconvenience it caused you.

I feel you, and understand it. But don't fret; we are here to guide, assist, and offer solutions to restore your device to optimum performance.

Ghost touch (or touch failure) is a term used when the screen responds to presses or inputs you didn't actually make, or when an area of the phone screen is completely unresponsive to touch.

Before you try out the recommendations below, be sure to check if your device's software and related apps are updated to the latest version. To update your mobile device's software, follow these steps:

Step 1. Go to Settings > Software update.
Step 2. Tap on Download and install.
Step 3. Follow the on-screen instructions.
Step 4. Restart your device.

Clear Cache Wipe Partition.

Step 1.  Turn off the device. (Connect with type C cable)
Step 2. Press and hold the Volume Up key and the power button.
Step 3. When the Android logo displays, release all keys.
Step 4. Press the Volume down key to navigate and select "Wipe cache partition".
Step 5. Press Power key to select. When the wipe cache partition is complete, Select Reboot System.
Step 6. Press the Power key to restart the device.

Few tips and quick ways on how to fix touchscreen issues.

1) Optimize device performance.

The Device care feature will improve your phone's overall performance by scanning for wasted storage space and other potential issues. Navigate to and open Settings. Tap Device care, and then tap Optimize now.

2) Reboot the phone in safe mode.

Booting your smartphone in safe mode is also another option to find out if the screen still flickers or not. Safe mode is like a diagnostic tool to help identify the problems on your device.

Step 1: Turn off your device then power on.

Step 2: When the Samsung logo appears by itself, press and hold the Volume down key.

Step 3: The device will switch on in Safe mode. Safe mode will be displayed on the bottom left of the screen.

If the screen works in safe mode, an app is most likely causing your issue. Remove recently downloaded apps one by one until the problem is fixed. If the problem persists when your device is running in Safe mode, the problem might not be related to an app.

To exit safe mode, restart your device

If that doesn't fix the problem, you may submit an error report through the Samsung Members app as follows:

Step 1. Long press Samsung Members icon on Apps screen and tap Error reports.

Step 2. Tap OK on agreement popup to send system log data.

Step 3. Select Symptom category "Settings/System".

Step 4. Describe the problem in details and SEND.

Hey pauconner,

Would you mind running a diagnostics check through your Samsung Members app for me? Head over to the Support tab and tap Diagnostics, and then Touch screen.

Post the results here :)
