We are sorry to hear about your experience with your Samsung Galaxy A52 having issues with the screen that failed to respond. I feel and understand why you are worried, whenever there something goes wrong with the device that you've take care so much. If my device is facing similar experience, I will be bothered too.
Before you try out the below recommendations as to your solution, be sure to check if your device's software are updated with the latest version. Please check how to update your mobile device's software in the following order.
Step 1. Go to Settings > Software update.
Step 2. Tap on Download and install.
Step 3. Follow the on-screen instructions.
Attachments to the screen may affect the touch sensitivity.
If you attach accessories such as screen protectors to the touch screen, the touch screen may not work properly. Small stickers, such as protective labels, can also affect touch sensitivity. Some Samsung-unapproved protective glasses or films have only adhesive on the side edges, and if these products are attached to the screen, the protective glass or film may not adhere completely to the screen.
Because of this, some areas of the touch screen may not recognize the touch and may respond intermittently. After removing the attachment, check the touch function again.
1. Restart your device.
- On devices with a Power key: Press and hold the Power key, and then tap Restart. Tap Restart again to restart your device.
- On devices with a Side key: Swipe down from the top of the screen to open the Quick settings panel. Tap the Power icon, and then tap Restart. Tap Restart again to restart your device.
If the touchscreen isn’t not working at all, you can restart your device by pressing and holding the Volume down key and the Power key/Side key simultaneously for 10 seconds. Once it turns off, you can turn your device back on by pressing the Power key or Side key again.
2. Check your charger.
If your charger is damaged, it may not supply power to your device, which may cause the touch screen to malfunction. In this case, use a different, undamaged charger to prevent this issue. It’s also a good idea to avoid using the touchscreen when the device is charging.
3. Optimize device performance.
The Device Care feature will improve your phone's overall performance by scanning for wasted storage space and other potential issues. Navigate to and open Settings > Battery and device care > Optimize now.
4. Disable Touch sensitivity.
If the Touch sensitivity setting is turned on when no protective film is used, the touchscreen may respond too sensitively and therefore malfunction. To disable the Touch sensitivity feature, navigate to Settings, tap Display, and then tap the switch next to Touch sensitivity to turn it off.
Note: The Edge Touch screen areas may not work properly due to the touch sensitivity may be weakened as this area is narrowed due to finger contact with the bezel part. It is not a device defect but a normal operation by design structure.
5. Reboot the phone in Safe Mode.
Booting your smartphone in safe mode is also another option to find out if the screen still flickers or not. Safe mode is like a diagnostic tool to help identify the problems on your device.
Step 1: Turn off your device then power it on.
Step 2: When the Samsung logo appears by itself, press and hold the Volume Down key.
Step 3: The device will switch on in Safe mode. Safe mode will be displayed on the bottom left of the screen.
If the screen works in safe mode, an app is most likely causing your issue. Remove recently downloaded apps one by one until the problem is fixed. If the problem persists when your device is running in Safe mode, the problem might not be related to an app.
To exit safe mode, restart your device.
If that doesn't fix the problem, you may submit an error report through the Samsung Members app as follows:
Step 1. Long press Samsung Members icon on Apps screen and tap Error reports.
Step 2. Tap OK on agreement popup to send system log data.
Step 3. Select Symptom category "Sensor/Touch".
Step 4. Describe the problem in details and SEND.
