Samsung,

Last evening my Galaxy A55 downloaded and installed an update sent by your 'geeks'.  Today, some many differences in layout and settings.  Did I ask or authorise these to occur?  Was I asked if I wanted to change settings etc because someone releasing the updates feels it's an improvement or better?  Please just remember that I paid you for and own the phone, you just provide the operating system.  Please at least add a courtesy screen advising expected changes and asking if I want them to be made or if I prefer for the existing operating environment to continue.  Really VERY annoying, especially as I did not request the operating changes to be made to MY phone.

Does Apple do so? OEMs do not have to ask permission to update their software

Well as I have paid for the mobile I own, they shoild ask permission to change my personal settings .... they only own the underlying operating system not the interface Ibuse to operate it. By the way, part of the payment includes a license fee for me to use it and by law. I have a reasonable expectation of its unfettered use for the pupose it was purchased. I reiterate Samsung should upgrade its system and safety features but it should askbspecifically before changing personal settings.

Well then everyone should sue companies such as Microsoft when they release a new version of Windows which 'changes' their settings

If you are really that disgusted with the new update, then grab a custom rom and roll back 🤨

I agree, we should all sue MS and Google and others.
