A month ago Australian A52 5g users got notification in the members app that their phone will be updated to One UI 4 in March. The other day, that got bumped back to April. Not sure how reliable the info is, but some sites are saying that A52 5g is being updated to One UI 4 as we speak in US. Why the three month delay for us here in Australia? I know they're not flagships, and I know they get bumped down the order list of phones to be updated, but come on. Three months difference. What could possibly be holding up the Australian version that long? Seems quite unfair to be honest.
The update may have been delayed for your model because of bugs or maybe they wanted to improve the experience. Different models feature different screen sizes, chips, battery sizes and features so they probably wanted to make sure the experience was completely streamlined.
Right, so think about it. Update is ready now in the US, but in Australia, it's not a couple of weeks difference, it's 3 whole months difference. A bit long for a bit of carrier testing and removing call recording for Australian models don't you think.
Varying by three months? What are they adding/removing that won't be ready for another three months here but is ready in America now. Same phone, three whole months difference.
Hi @WobbyDoggles, unfortunately I do not have visibility on what this team works on prior to release.
One thing I would like to note is that countries part of the beta program may have a version closer to the finalised version and require less modification before release.
So a beta program for a completely different phone model, determines the roll-out of another phones update. Just admit that it's the typical piss poor contemptable treatment samsung has for Australian customers. I mean, Croatian a52 5g models are getting it now. It was **bleep** when it was set for march, bumped back to April, no acknowledgement, no explanation. If it was the US that had to be bumped back a full press release would be issued to explain why. We get nothing.
