Have you been experienced the touchscreen feature not functioning sometimes? I touched it and don't logged me in sometimes for three attempts. Maybe Samsung must make an update for it to be better.
are you referring to the fingerprint scanner? if yes, registering the your print twice. that would help your phone identify you faster. also do not press to hard on the sensor, just a light touch will do.
