Security updates for Note 10+

I'm with optus and I have not received security patch since October 2022. Is this because Samsung only publishes security patch quarterly? Or is it optus that is falling behind in this?

Anyone with Telstra have latest patch on the same device?

I use this for connecting to work email and they require all devices to be having Nov patch at least by 22Jan2023 otherwise I'll lose access to the work profile.

The Note 10 are being updated quarterly. They should be getting the next qrt update, but it'll depend on a multitude or factors, so it's difficult to say if you'll get one before the due date.

Considering security is so important for work, it's probably time to get a new phone with more frequent updates.

I guess this is the issue with having way too many different options. Having to support them all on a monthly basis for more than a couple of years is quite difficult. Agree, probably new phone time soon 🙂

Considering Samsung is now supporting newer phones (including the A series with a33, a55 and the a73) with 4 years of major updates and 5 years of security updates, that's a pretty 'decent' update schedule. And Samsung will continue to release phones of different variations (a33s, a53s,etc) and they will also follow the above schedule.

Ofc we always want more and more. But considering the competition, even google doesn't provide major updates that long!

I have a note 20 ultra just got a Jan update but no new security update (Oct 22) yet most systems seem to just check the general update status so keep using until you lose access and then enjoy not being able to work for a day or 2 😍
If work really wants you to work then they can always get you a new phone

Google did make it easier to push security patches more frequently more than a year ago, the worry here is that the cadence is not good enough from Samsung at all. Not comparing with others, but Samsung can do better..

Received the January update today. I guess this would be the cycle now. Next update would be in May.
