Does the Samsung S22+ support AptX Adaptive audio codecs? I have talked to Samsung Reps on the phone, chat, text, searched the web, searched the Samsung site and I can find nothing. I forgot about twitter, reddit, and even facebook with no better luck. I have messaged some utubers to see if they would post audio codecs from the developer options as well.

The Reps/Techs I talked with from Samsung say and I quote "Since this is a new item we don't have that data". I was blown away because I can't believe I am the only other person who wants to know this information. I have noticed Samsung didn't support codecs on the S20/21 that support AptX HD and also AptX Adaptive. This leads me to believe that they wont this year also, but I have to check.

Edit: This is for Qualcomm 8 Gen 1 processor
Might as well check to see if it will support:
AptX
AptX HD
AptX Lossless
LDAC
Well perhaps to make it easier. You list all the codecs it does support.

Thanks for any information you can provide

On a fold 3, just the old aptx classic. @dolgogi may be able to shed some light when they have the new s22 ultra. I doubt it.

Keep in mind all the old and new buds support ssc (Samsung Scalable Codec: the equivalent of aptx adaptive) and they don't have aptx support. So I'd imagine there's no need to add/pay for another codec.

Ofc that means you'll have to get a pair of buds, instead of whatever you have, to take advantage of ssc.

Personally have the buds pro, got it for cheap (120) and no regrets. Balanced sound all around.Screenshot_20220213-205806_Settings_23654_1644746286.jpg

It really is a sad situation right now
We have the Apple biosphere
We have the Qualcomm biosphere
We have the Google Biosphere

This makes it extremely hard to take advantage of all technologies.....I would love to see everyone place nicely together.....but that is a dream.

I was able to google and get pics of the S20 and S21. I thank you for also posting to confirm.

Is there a test one can do to see if there is support for it? Perhaps i can drop by the Samsung store tomorrow at lunch and test for you.

You would have to enable developer options scroll down pretty far and you will see Bluetooth Audio Codecs.

To Enable Developer Options

I tried. Developer mode was disabled. Possibly by the devices current knox policy. Perhaps some of the Samsung staff on here can test on a device they have in the office

Hi @cycling8848, thanks for reaching out. I have raised your query internally regarding codec compatibility on the S22 series and will get back to you when I receive a response.
