Well, the official word from Samsung is that the Bluetooth and alarm icons are missing from the status bar because "One UI 7 doesn't show the Bluetooth icon and many others in the status bar for a cleaner look".

That's great. I don't want a cleaner look. I want to be able to make quick determination as to whether my alarm is on or my BT headset is connected without having to swipe or tap.

If I wanted to be forced to use my device the way someone else determines is the best way, I'd go buy an Apple product.

I run Android so that I've got the power of choice and can make decisions for myself. Change the default? Sure. Why not? Maybe most people want it sleeker. But don't remove the option for the rest of us.

Please give an option to have a persistent icon for Bluetooth and the alarm status.

While you're at it, please give an option to move the search box in the app drawer back to the top and another option to reverse the swipe down on the right side to give the settings and the left side to give notifications so it can be the other way around.

Come on guys... your entire platform was built on giving people a choice. It's ok to make changes but please don't force them and also remove our ability to choose our preferences.

100%. The appeal of Android for me has been that we can customize various aspects of it to match our use. What's crazy to me is that we've all built up muscle memory using features, swipes, gestures repeated hundreds or thousands of times and to make these type of changes without a way to retain the classic style is so dumb.

Even now, you can only see around three app icons at the top left of the screen, then there's a small dot to indicate that more app icons or notifications are available, necessitating me to have to swipe to see the rest when there is enough space to show more app icons so I can see if anything is actionable or not.

Hi DynamiteMonkey,
when pulling the shade down you'll see the BT icon but is not next to WiFi. However, we will consider it as feedback.

Thanks for the response. I understand that I can "pull the shade" down to reveal the BT and alarm icons, but that's the entire point.

I don't want to do that.

Prior to UI 7, I could just glance at the screen to know the state. Now I must perform extra steps many, many times per day.

By all means, make the new way a default, but please give us the option to have peristent icons for the ones we want.

Agree 100%. I can barely understand the decision on the BT icon, but not having the alarm clock icon seems just absurd
