My chat feature not working on Samsung messaging app with other Android users. RCS is turned on in settings and all chat features are on too. I have restarted my phone couple of times with no luck. Is it down for everyone or am I the oy one facing this issue? Also is there a fix to this? Please help.

Is RCS enabled also in recipient's phone? Which network are you on?

Yeap it's also on on my wife's zfold 4. Tried on both wifi and Telstra mobile network.

Did a quick search on Google, and seems Telstra abandoned their own RCS since May 2022.

Did it prompt you the Google Jibe/RCS agreement when you enabled the Chat setting in your Samsung Messages?

Maybe try to the other app, Google Messages and see if RCS works there.

Ya it's working on Google messaging app. When I go to Samsung messaging app and try to turn it on, it says Registration failed. How can I register? It was all fine till last week.

When I click on start, it comes with Registration failed. Screenshot_20221101-232930_Messages.jpg

Try registering while you're on data, not wifi.

I've got the same issue on my Fold 3. Samsung messages chat feature doesn't work but on Google messages it does. But i don't like google messages. If anyone has the solution please share it. I've tried everything nothing seems to fix it

Other might have better idea, but per my understanding Samsung Messages only supports telco rcs implementation, and since Telstra already dropped theirs, it will always fail. Unless Samsung Messages supports Googles RCS (through Jibe).

So you're best bet for now is to use Google Messages. It's tailored to Samsung anyway, and looks like in the future Google Messages will be the default for all Android phones.
