Hi,
I have a Samsung S21 Ultra, and a broken laptop! I have been using a WD External Hardrive for my photos that i transfer, so my phone isnt crammed with massive sized photos.
Anyway, is it possible to use my WD external hardrive with my phone? I read that i may be able to with an OTG Adaptor..?
Any advice is appreciated!

I just tried to connect my Seagate hard drive to my phone. I can open it directly with samsung file manager, but it is read-only since the disk is in NTFS format.
I've also browsed youtube to see some solutions but they seem pretty weird.
I recommend you to get a laptop some time if this is not urgent so that nothing get corrupted.
You can also have to try to connect it to your phone with a type c adapter to see if it works.😁

It is possible to transfer and read/write to external drives if it's formatted in ExFAT.
I do this all the time with my Samsung T SSD's and other HDD.
If your HDD is using a USB-A port, you can buy USB-C to USB-A adapters from Harvey Norman/JB or eBay 🙂

If you also use OneDrive for gallery sync there is a OneDrive option called Free up phone space or something like that.
I believe it will keep the photos in OneDrive but not on the phone and each time you try to open one it will need to download it first.
