My Samsung Galaxy S21 5G started to randomly restart itself the first few months of getting it. I took it into our local Samsung store, they sent it off, they reset the device to its factory settings.

It only took a week for it to start resetting itself randomly again, i kept it free from any apps, to make sure it wasn't some conflict btw. So i took it right back, Samsung sent it off to the same service centre, they did their checks and flashed it and sent it right back.. And low and behold started resetting... The worst part is there is no reason for it, i will wake up and the phone has reset during the night, i will open the default chrome browser and it will restart, i will start to call someone it will restart, i will end a call with someone and it will restart. I will open or close the camera it will restart, i will have it in my pocket and it will restart.

The worst part is that i need to make an emergency call and it resets upon making the call.... I cannot rely on this phone to save my life or someone else, and i do mean that in the literal sense..

So upon taking it back for the third time they said the will send it off VOC ( Voice of the customer) or something like that, and that i will be contacted to see if we can get it replaced or refunded. But NO they sent it right back to the same repair place that did the same old check saying there is nothing wrong...

So now i am capturing footage if it randomly resetting, which i have some... But it's not easy because its so random.

So i hope once i have the footage, i can show people, showing them that there is something is wrong and their fault checks are not reporting correctly.

I really hope to have this sorted, my old Galaxy S6 is still more reliable. But this will probably be my last Samsung device... Shameful service and customer care i have to say.

Hi @jagjeet, that definitely sounds strange. Please send through an error repot and email with the details above but change your subject to SamsungLaura - Z Fold3 restarting

Thanks for reaching out, I am sorry to hear this has occurred with your device. I suggest sending an error report within 2-3 minutes of the issue occurring for this to be investigated. Error reports are sent to our team to identify any deviations in your device performance, once analysed, our team will get back to you with a response to advise further.

To send an error report:

Samsung Members app > Get help > Error reports > select issue category > Describe issue and frequency > Tick ‘Send system log data’ > ‘Send’ in top right.

Additionally, could you send through an email to members.au@samsung.com detailing the following:

Not the solution given the frequent resettings, just something to try.
1. Google your carrier's APN setfings, your phone's can be found under Network Connections. Note old settings down in writing so you can revert to these, compare, update if necessary. Note APN settings for 5G may be different to 3G, 4G etc.
2. None of the following explains restarts but shoild be checked. Up to and including 3G your phone used a separate phone connection, not your data. In 4G it used the 4G for data but the 3G phone connection for phone calls unless the 4G Voice over LTE (VoLTE) option had been activated. Note you may have to check if your carrier supports VoLTE. I don't know if 5G automatically supports VoLTE but it might, again, be a carrier settings problem.I have an Amaysim (uses Optus) second sim card with only a phone plan, not data. Sometime ago I asked them if their data plan supported VoLTE - it doesn't. So
2a. Try setting your network connection to 4G (VoLTE) or just 4G if that is all that is available., note if network (APN) are dfferent change them.
2b. If still problems try 3G.
2c. If your phone works o.k. but starts doing restarts again, go to Apps, find phone and clear the cache and se if that is a temporary fix.
2d. Borrow someone's Telstra, Optus, Vodaphone or Boost sim and test in your phone. Also consider if your sim card is damaged and consider asking for a replacement.
Finally, load an app called Aus Phone Towers anduse the left pull out menu to test 5G reception in your area (maps).
