I dropped my phone in the water at the beach yesterday. The phone was fine, but I had the check charger/USB port notification. I only charged wirelessly for 24 hours, and the notification went away before then but I still took 24 hours anyway to be sure.

It's the middle of the night and my phone woke me up making that moisture detected noise thing and gave me one of the pop-ups pictured below. (Picture is not mine)

I'm not sure how long it was going off for because it's not what woke me up but once it like registered in my brain that the noise I was hearing was unsettling, it took me about a minute to figure out that it was my phone making the noise. So it was going off fit at least a minute, though I think it was longer.

Does this mean my port is damaged now? Could damage have been done in the time that it was going off before I noticed it? Or in the time before I had charged it with no issue before? How do I get all the moisture out? And how do I know when it's all out?

How long am I supposed to wait to plug in my phone? Clearly waiting 24 hours and until the notification had gone away wasn't long enough. But it had been on the charger for a few hours 2 times before this happened.

(P.S. That sound is scary as *** to wake up and hear. I don't know if finding what the sound was made it worse or better, but if the sound was designed to be extremely unsettling and attention grabbing, then good freaking job because now I can't fall back asleep)

you can just dry and clean the charging port or get it just replacep the charging port by a technician or you can do it by your own if you can open your phone up
