I have just purchased the S21 Ultra and am trying to use the NFC to connect a Samsung Buds Pro Smart Cover (Hohoho mandalorian one, purchased from Samsung directly).

It connects via NFC, and so I have tried and tried and it does not read it. I then decided to test my NFC by holding a card with a chip in it that I know worked on my Samsung note10, and surprise surprise, it didn't pick it up either.

So far I have tried:

  • Emptying the cache for the NFC
  • Force stop of NFC
  • Restart phone several times
  • Soft restart holding side buttons until turns off
  • Reset all settings through menu

None have worked.

I have now downloaded a two NFC check apps, both tell

me my device is ready to use NFC, but the Android bean is not enabled. Google tells me by having the NFC switched to on, this should automatically be enabled and the S21 no longer has a setting specifically for the Android Beam to be turned on and off.

Anyone else having this issue no the new S21? Can I fix the Android beam so it is enabled while when my NFC is switched to on?

I have all the latest updates on the latest phone. No issues.

My phone NFC is the centre back on my phone, but some are located at the top of the phone, try these area's.

Yeah I tried the tip and middle and bottom of the phone. I didn't check my old phone before selling it, but I know previously the card would scan on the nfc so I know pre update it would work.

Ill try find something else to test nfc tag on, but im not confident

Live might have the answer. If not, I would pop down to the store to demonstrate or test.

Hi @JanideSmith, thanks for reaching out. Please open the Samsung Members app on your S21, and go to the following:

Hi @hunta, that's odd. Please try the following and let me know:

1. Swipe down to your Quick Panel Settings > ensure 'Sensors Off' is off (should be greyed out, not blue)

2. Check if a 3rd party app may be preventing it from opening:

Settings > Biometrics and security > Other security settings > Device admin apps. From here you can see which apps may be blocking the use of NFC.

I think that in any online store, there should be a security system in order to ensure the security of customer transactions. If fraudsters start illegal activity against your customers at your store, I fear there will be no customers left. To form a partnership with a knowledgeable anti-fraud services provider, follow the link https://covery.ai/.
