Hi!

Recently, my S20 fe has started vibrated repeatedly upon opening an app. It continues until the app is shut, and isn't caused by any notifications from the app. It only occurs when I open this specific app, and I have had a go at changing the app notification settings and restarting my phone (though neither have worked).

I have had a look around on this forum and online and can't find anything about this. I have seen similar issues to do with vibration but no notification, however the solutions for these issues haven't worked in my case.

Is there something obvious I'm missing? I feel really stuck!

Any help would be greatly appreciated :)

Try uninstalling and reinstalling the app. Check app notification setting and permissions

It is currently uninstalled, however now am facing the issue of being unable to log back in for 48hrs (got the password wrong twice...) 😔
But thank you!

UPDATE:

Deleted the app, reinstalled, and still buzzing.

Even when I turn off all app notifications my phone vibrates, I am officially and completely lost.

Hmm.. that is a tough one.
Have you tried resetting your phones settings to default? That doesn't require a factory reset so you won't lose anything.
Settings - General management - reset - reset all settings

Thank you for this suggestion!

Since resetting all my app setting, I've had a play around and I think I may now know what is causing the vibration!

I believe it is the app trying to access my camera while in a DM chat, as when I turn off the camera permission the app stops buzzing when I open it.

If anyone knows any setting that makes it so the phone won't vibrate when an app tries to access the camera, that would be greatly appreciated. Thank you to everyone who has helped so far!!

Oh, and when the camera permission is set to "Ask every time", it still buzzes...

Hi AraJuly,

Glad to hear that you may have found the source of the buzzing!

For the camera issue, have you tried going into Sounds and vibration> System vibration then turning the system vibrations off? The last option is 'Camera feedback' - try turning that off and seeing if the vibration still happens .

It's also possible that your phone is just buzzing for the notifications you haven't cleared.

Try this: If you go into Settings > Notifications > Advanced Settings > Repeat notification alerts and turn that off.

Let me know how you go.

Thanks,
