My S25 Ultra usually fails to sync with my Ford Ranger, and the car's screen gets stuck displaying the message: "SYNC is trying to initialize Android Auto. Please check device." The S25 has only connected successfully three times, but if I stop the car and turn off the engine, it loses connection and then shows the "SYNC is trying to initialize..." message again. My old phone, an S23 Ultra, worked without any issues in the same vehicle. Additionally, Android Auto on the S25 works correctly with our other car, a Subaru Impreza.

I have tried the following solutions:

  • Using a different USB cable
  • Adjusting every configuration setting in the Android Auto app
  • Deleting and re-adding accepted cars
  • Powering off and restarting the S25
  • Ensuring all permissions are turned on

I am out of ideas. The issue is intermittent, but it must be something with the new device as the old S23 worked correctly.

I have updated the Ford SYNC software to the latest version.

I have connected another S25 Ultra to the car and the same problem occurs.

I haven't found a solution yet.
I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling Android Auto on the phone in the Google Play store. Unfortunately, this didn't fix the issue.

Try clearing the Cache in the Google Play Store App.  That worked for me. Got that tip from another forum.

Hi, interested in reading this as my S23 has just stopped connecting to my Android Auto Kia cerato.
Samsung tech staff have tried to troubleshoot but haven't been able to work it out....

Bro you're not alone!! I have a 22 explorer and a S25 ultra. I'm getting the same error message sometimes it'll work just fine  other times the phone will ask me if want to allow access to my phone via USB which is annoying I would love for it to just plug in and play. Never had an issue with my iPhone activating carplay. Samsung might need to send out an update or Fords Sync system might need an update to keep up with these phones! Hang in there!!

I am having the same issue with my 2019 F150. I took it to the dealership (recall on the SYNC system) and they updated the truck. Bought my phone a week later and I get the same message you were getting. I took it back tonight thinking the update didn't take in the truck and they were able to verify the update and had two different people hook up their Android Phones with no problems. I hooked up my wife's S24 with no issues. There is something funky with the 25+ and the SYNC System. Phone works via Bluetooth but can't use Wayz or any other apps. Hope there is a solution soon!!
