Galaxy SHi, did ypu manage to resolve the issue, my wifes phone just started to do the exact same thing, three yeas old, never dropped.

Galaxy SI found a solution, it looks like a samsung panel problem, if you change your screen motion smoothness from adaptive to standard then it goes away, battery saving mode also works as it changes that option automatically as well
