Hey all, I consider my self galaxy guru but this issue got me stumped. About 3 days ago I am no longer able to conect my phone to TV. If I want to watch a movie on my phone I would simply click smarting icon in top right corner and Walla. Simple right? No longer works. I can see my TV and when I click on it nothing happens just says unable to connect. Yes everything is connected to same network etc. My s22 connects no problem but my S24ultra has stoped. I can force conect and watch pictures that are on my phone on TV but soon as I get to movie tells me video player not working. However I can watch it on my phone so not the video player. Any help would be appreciated

Hi @Sash1980 and @mohamedgad, interesting reading your post/ comments regarding inability to use Google ChromeCast to playback videos on ur phone to your TV.

Made me check with my situation and whether I could cast to ChromeCast with my Galaxy phone to TV.

And was impressed that it all worked and was fairly simple.

Let me explain my setup first:
Phone : S23U
TV: LG webOS TV OLED65E8PTA
ChromeCast: ChromeCast Ultra dongle connected via HDMI input to TV. Reckon age of ChromeCast is probably 2019/2020 vintage ( yes I know they now only sell Google TV streamer).

Following screenshots explain the steps I took:

Step 1 - When connecting to ChromeCast I always use the "Google Home" app. It shows all my connected Google devices/automations. In my case, Lounge TV was selected as the TV I would like to cast to.

Steps 2-4, Once right TV that you would like to cast to is selected, just go thru the steps ( refer pink highlighted icons) to start casting of phone via ChromeCast to ur TV.

Step 5 - Sucess of actual connection via ChromeCast is indicated both by "TV screen" icon with red infill in top Status Bar icons on ur phone together with Notifications text saying the same thing.

Step 6 - I used the "Video Player" Samsung App to play my MP4 video that I recorded on my phone.

Success :) Played back perfectly both sound and picture quality was excellent 👌

By the way it didn't use it be like that. I used to be just open the smart view icon and all the available screens would show up then you tap connect on the one you want then it works instantly now since Samsung probably is doing some Apple quirk imitation it stopped working since 2029 or so.

Strange, just tried using the "Smart View" method of mirroring my phone to my TV and it worked as well.

My phone is also a S23U like yours so it sounds more like a Sony Bravia thing.

Do you have a ChromeCast Ultra dongle that you could connect to ur Sony TV so you could ChromeCast rather than use Smart View?
