I am in Australia and unfortunately my phone is having this issue which is really annoying. VoLTE / Wi-Fi Calling suddenly stops working when the phone loses network service or switches from 3G to 4G/5G in my Galaxy S21.

Initially, when I start using the phone after a restart, VoLTE works, but if I go into a lift, or the phone switches to 3G then back to 4G/5G, VoLTE simply will not turn back on again. The only way to make it turn back on is by restarting the entire phone. I also tested by putting the phone into Airplane mode, where the same issue occurs.

I  factory reset the phone and the issue came back after a day of using my phone. I also updated to the latest June firmware (G991BXXU5CVF1) and yet, the issue remains the same. Then I decided to roll back to the May update (G991BXXU5CVDD) but the same issue occurred after a day the phone was working fine.

This is really annoying and uncomfortable. I am not sure what else to do or what might be causing this problem. It is worth noting that the problem is not network related as it occurs in many different places across Sydney, where I live.

Any help or advice would be really appreciated.

I have just fixed the issue (I think) force restart - press volume down and side key simultaneously press restart, press and hold volume down and side key simultaneously until samsung appears. Seems to have worked worth a try

Hi @JMJ1, in that case, I suggest sending an error report within 2-3 minutes of the issue occurring for this to be investigated by our research and development team. Error reports assist with identifying any deviations in your device performance. Once analysed, our team will get back to you with a response to advise further steps.

To send an error report:
Samsung Members app > Get help > Error reports > select issue category > Describe issue and frequency > Tick ‘Send system log data’ > ‘Send’ in top right.

I've got the same issue on my UK Samsung S21. Keen to hear if you found a fix for this.

Here are my symptoms which seem to align with what you're finding:
