Hello
I've recently encountered a problem where my Fold 5's fingerprint sensor completely stopped working. As of the moment, I have rooted out a software error as I've done the surface level fixes in regards to a faulty fingerprint sensor and none seem to have resolved the issue. I will acknowledge that it was merely resetting the accessibility settings; however that was the most common fix I found online. Anyways, since my device was still under warranty I had just booked an appointment for a Samsung Service Center and was wondering if I'd be stuck without a phone for an egregious amount of time. To my question then, my educated guess to whats wrong with my device is a hardware issue in relation to the connection of the fingerprint sensor to the rest of the phone. With that being said, how long would the service center hold my device for? Does anyone have a similar or any experience with local (Philippine) Samsung service centers and what can you share about it? If they do need to hold the device for a period of time, how can I prepare? A good majority of my daily necessities are conducted on the device in question.

I'm sorry to hear you're experiencing issues with your Galaxy Z Fold5, krispybata! A great way to troubleshoot is to use the Samsung Members app to run diagnostics.

First, open the app and tap 'Support' and then 'Phone diagnostics.' From there, you can select various tests to check for any underlying issues. This should help pinpoint what might be the reason for the fingerprint sensor or any hardware issues. Upon diagnosis and if the hardware is really the issue, we recommend visiting an authorized Samsung service center to get a thorough check. They can help ensure your Galaxy Z Fold5 gets the attention it needs! Just a reminder that the repair might take different time frames depending on the complexity of the issue.

You can find the nearest service center to you here: http://smsng.co/SCLocator-SM 📌

📱We also made it easy for you to book your appointment! You may do so directly from the Support tab on your Samsung Members app.

🛵If you're from Metro Manila and cannot find the time to personally visit a service center, you can have it picked up*!

To book your pickup, you may call the following numbers:

#GALAXY (#425299) - Toll-free, all networks
(02) 8 422-2111 - Standard Landline

*Galaxy pickup is free ONLY for flagship devices. Service fee applies to other models and varies per service center.

I hope this helps. Keep us updated!
