Personally, I really don’t mind (comming from a ZF5)
It sits up in the notification bar area, so barely noticeable anyway – especially for full screen videos where black bars hide it completely (from the aspect ratio)
But yes, I use it a lot for meetings 😋 it dawned on me over time that the UDC created a very subtle blur / washed effect (non-issue though, more of an irk if ever noticed)
So I would orientate the fold so the hole punch goes into an area where there isn't any important HUD details (or inputs) - same goes for youtube videos
Sometimes I play Delta Force with a G8+ controller, so I reckon best orientation is the bottom right (e.g. where my weapon would permanently be).
For YouTube videos, I would probably say the same (or the top left in worst case). I presume the only time it would matter is if split-screening / multi-window (e.g., messenger on left, youtube on right) but I would just swap the apps around so messenger takes on the camera
Hopefully no UDC ends up helping more users than ruining it for others like myself lol. And is not just some other stupid reason they couldn't due to the pursuit of making the phone thinner.
Yeah lol - lots of mixed reactions out there atm, so is a hard YMMV.
Though for people like me - certainly a non-issue. I can also say the trade-off with slimness is worth it 😄 (if that was the true design justification)
I tried my fold 4 for a day with UDC cut shown (turned on from settings) and it does ruin the experience a bit as you're always conscious about the circle but I'm hoping after a while my brain just starts ignoring it.
