Hi, just sharing a confirmed issue after the One UI 7 update on my Galaxy A55 or other models.
I’ve noticed my phone now drains up to 15% to 20% overnight when it's idle — but only if Wi-Fi (Wi-Fi 5) and Location are turned ON. If I turn both OFF before sleeping, the battery only drops around 2–4%, like before the update.
🔎 What I’ve done:
- Cleared cache partition
- Updated all apps and system
- Disabled background usage
- Ran diagnostics in Samsung Members
- Submitted 3 reports with system logs
Unfortunately, I keep getting the same copy-paste response from support. This seems like a software-level bug, not a user issue.
📌 I’m posting this to see if others are experiencing the same problem — and hoping Samsung devs notice and include a fix in future updates.
Anyone else with a similar issue on A55 or other Galaxy devices?

Appreciate the reply! 😊
I actually waited more than 2 weeks before reporting this, and just to be sure, I even did a full factory reset — but the issue still happens exactly the same way.
I’ve also seen some posts on Facebook with the same issue — different phone models, but still after One UI 7, and noticed it's still tied to Wi-Fi and Location.
That’s why I really think this isn’t just normal post-update behavior. Hoping others can test it too so we can confirm if it’s a wider bug. 🙏

I actually noticed some improvements in battery during normal use, but the idle drain is definitely worse when Wi-Fi and Location are on.
Samsung already released the June security patch, but sadly, the issue is still there on my end. 😅 Hoping the next updates. 🤞
Thanks for engaging, by the way! 🙏

Oh yeah, I actually saw a similar post on Google before — Samsung replied to the same issue and suggested turning off Wi-Fi and Location when idle. I can’t find the link anymore, but I followed their advice and it really helped!
For now, I just made a routine that turns off Wi-Fi and Location before sleeping, and turns them back on when I wake up. Super helpful, especially while waiting for a proper fix. 😅
And yeah, that’s probably why you haven’t gotten the June patch yet — maybe your unit has a different regional firmware. Hopefully it rolls out to you soon!
