I'm running Android 12 on my Samsung Galaxy Tab S7 Plus, I plugged in a USB flash drive at the bottom into the charging port, now I've noticed that if I go into Device Care, than Storage, I cannot seem to find the unmount function for the USB flash drive. Only for the internal SD card. Quite strange as this function was there a while back, but has it been removed now.

Test using another usb. You may find that dismounting has already occurred or only appears when a usb is connected. Also some Samsung devices only recognise usbs formatted by your device.

I rebooted my tablet, tried a different USB thumb drive, same problem. What I need to do now is to go to My Files program, than eject it from there. But I don't really use My Files program but actually use File Commander which I really like, the only problem is I can't seem to find a eject function in File Commander

I have also had usb problems when I have closed a file but not the app running the file. Connect the original usb, open apps used when connected. Open a file. Close file and app. Look for dismount, also clear caches for those specific apps. Another thing to try is to open then close in safe mode, search Google for opening in safe mode.

Hi @MrBBear, that's strange. Could you send through a screenshot showing the missing option via the Members app for this to be looked into?

Thanks for reaching out. I suggest sending an error report within 2-3 minutes of the issue occurring for this to be investigated by our research and development team. Error reports assist with identifying any deviations in your device performance. Once analysed, our team will get back to you with a response to advise further steps.

To send an error report:
Samsung Members app > Get help > Error reports > System > Describe issue and frequency > Tick ‘Send system log data’ > Attach screenshot >  ‘Send’ in top right.

If you look at the pics attached, you will see that there's no USB drive, but I can get SD Card and Microsoft One Drive.
