Just wanted to give an update on a previous post I made a couple months ago (look at profile if interested) to warn others. Its now been 4 months since i posted my phone in. I've sent over 5 emails to asurion who say that they have received the phone in the warehouse and are waiting for it to be inspected. This was 3 months ago. On the samsung front, I've sent 2 emails to SamsungClaudette who responds that someone will reach out but noone does and nothing is done. There is no option to cancel my trade-in.

Asurion is a SCAM company. I have always been a Samsung fan(first phone was S3), in fact I was one of the first 500 to preorder the fold 5 with the trade-in deal (regrets) and got the galaxy watch 5 bonus. However, Samsung doing business with Asurion makes them just as bad. I will NOT be returning to Samsung products. At this point I've considered it a lost cause and have already filed a ACC report.

Bottom line - TLDR: If you trade-in with Samsung via Asurion its a gamble. Maybe you will get the trade-in value or you lose your phone in an endless "inspection".

I will be reposting this on other forums. If there are enough similar cases, a class action can be considered.

Feel free to contact me if you are in the same position

I'm in a similar situation myself...having literally praising Samsung Australia for the excellent experience. I have recently upgraded my Flip5 to the S23 Ultra and got a security charge of $1055. Asurion have both confirmed reception and successful grading of my device, and that they've released the security deposit. However, it has been 2 weeks, and I have not received that money

However in all honesty, this is a customer service issue, not a product issue. I aim to be a samsung customer for the foreseeable future, just *** that customer service can be a horrible miss sometimes

It hasn't been months so there may still be hope for you. Agreed that it's not a product issue but buying Samsung products means supporting this poor customer service.

Update: there was an apparent issue with the refund and so they asked me to put in alternate bank details. I have since RECEIVED my refund. Not so mad anymore

If you can make the trade-up app work at all.
At times it won't take most of my cards. Their customer services are useless and I doubt if it's flagged by banks for too many disputes.

This Asurion business with Samsung Tradein seems like a big time SCAM. I have sent my old phone only to be told that Asurion hasn't received it that is after providing actual AustPost receipt and a screenshot of delivery confirmation by AustPost.
