I just wanted to check how much does a new Fold 4 cost me if i trade in my device, i got the tradein from the app, added it on the samsung website to check final amount to pay after all other promo applied, decided to delete the cart and not go ahead with the purchase. After 3 weeks, i receive email from Asurion asking for me to return the device to them as a part of the tradein which i never did, I never bought a phone, i email them and they said, Samsung has already accepted the trade in ID so not much they can do, after 1 week they deducted $585 from my account, $525 for the device and $60 penalty for not returning my device.

has anyone else been through this as i am trying all possible options to get my money back, Samsung store is hopeless, visited them 3 times and not much they can do. Hypothetically speaking, even if i returned them my device how are they going to credit me with trade in amount when i have never bought a new device.

The following is only some of the advice I have given before. In addition I have never checkked whether you can go outside contract law and use criminal law for theft but that might be difficult to get anyone to do something. "Look up the ACCC and your State consumer body. When you make a case include some of the evidence of Samsung's responses and your attempts to resolve as some evidence of a prior effort to resolve needs to be included. I haven't checked but also Google Small Claims Tribunal in case your State has one"

Hi Laura,

I had given my 1 yr old phone for trade in (SP51F546). It was in perfectly good condition with just very minor scratches. They have rejected the trade in stating some scratches. Your trade in policy allows for minor scratches. My family and I are loyal samsung customer for many years and have traded in phones with minor scratches and never had an issue. Unfortunately I didn't take a photo of the phone before posting it but if there has been any other deeper scratches it could have happened in transit. If they don't want to accept the trade in, I'm ok with it but I requested them to return my phone. It's not fair that they have charged me $255 and are keeping my phone as well. They are saying I have to cancel my whole samsung order for them to return the phone which dies not make sense. I have been enjoying using my new S22 for 2 months now and doesn't make sense for me to cancel my order.

Please advise. Thanks
