Samsung is giving OS update for 4 years and 5 years for security patch to new series smartphones , but like who bought s10 plus , s20 series they are not getting OS updates support for this much time we also bought premium device at that time with the high end cost but not providing updates to the old one that's not great experience at all.

Android devices typically got 2 major updates for some years now.
Google and then Samsung raised that to 3 years.

Samsung amazingly has now decided to make that 4 years which is above what Google offers it's own devices, and is now the gold standard for Android manufacturers.

As for why they chose to start with some 2021 devices, only they know the answer to that.

As @Noah64 points out, those devices you mention were sold with a promise of 2 major updates, but Samsung will give them 3.

I don't have the list at hand, but basically S21 series/Z Fold3 & Flip3 and others going forward.

Also Samsung will be doing software updates for 4 years for the Watch4 series.

@Sammy422 unfortunately Samsung has to draw a line in terms of where this update program starts from, and it was 2021 devices.

Yeah, it seems to be only select upcoming A series based on that press release.
Not existing A series.
