I exported playlists from Samsung Music to my phones internal storage. The playlists were there but in m3u format which can't be played on Samsung Music as it says it doesn't support m3u.
How ridiculous is that?
Has anyone else experienced this and if so do you have a solution?

Did you use the inbuilt play list importer/ exporter?

Is in the settings of samsung music app. SmartSelect_20221013_171713_Samsung Music_5375_1665641833.jpg

Yes I did the playlists were exported from manage playlists as you've shown. They arrived in m3u format which Samsung Music does not support but were exported from Samsung Music.

Hmm that's interesting. I've just tried it on my Fold and it works without issues.

The file is in m3u and I can still import it.

Can you try deleting the old m3u file and re export/import?

Or actually, try adding the !# to the file name first.Screenshot_20221014_114527_Samsung Music_1000003442_1665708327.jpgScreenshot_20221014_114516_My Files_1000003440_1665708316.jpg

You didn't say if you were able to play music from the file in m3u
Samsung Music was unable to play it in my case.

Hello!
I changed the name of the playlist and it came up as that. Played the music on it and have no issues.

Also did it on my s10+ just then.

Ps, the 2-3 minutes is because you'll be pinpointing the issue right on the time it happens (when exporting failed or you can't play your playlist). Makes it a lot easier for devs to target the issue, as opposed to looking at a whole log. I think something is not quite right, so it's definitely worth to send the error logs as the issue happens!

Hope it gets fixed! 🤞Screenshot_20221014_193449_Samsung Music_1000003529_1665736545.jpg

Thanks for your help.
I imported the m3u playlists back from internal storage to Samsung Music and they arrived back as MP3 so all good.
The reason for all this is I'm changing phones and wasn't sure all my playlists would transfer over smart switch and I didn't want the hassle of repopulating hundreds of songs on over 50 playlists.
The last time I changed phones I didn't have so many playlists and I couldn't remember if the ones I had at the time transferred. So MP3 exported arrive as m3u and when imported back arrive back as MP3 Thanks again mate.

Hi @eddy33, thanks for reaching out. I suggest sending an error report within 2-3 minutes of the issue occurring for this to be investigated by our research and development team. Error reports assist with identifying any deviations in your device performance. Once analysed, our team will get back to you with a response to advise further steps.

To send an error report:
Samsung Members app > Get help > Error reports > select issue category > Describe issue and frequency > Tick ‘Send system log data’ > ‘Send’ in top right.

Why can't I just send an error report with the issues already stated why does it have to be in 2-3 minutes of doing it. I've already told you the problem so you know what is happening. I don't think I could do what you have said within 2-3 minutes.
