Hey guys——especially for Note20 Ultra series users. Please check the condition of your phone screen. My N20U produces a large special bright spot in gray background (not visible under the * # 0 * # test mode three primary colors and pure white), and can clearly distinguish the outline of the fingerprint sensor.

Is this a kind of burn-in screen? I found that some non-Australian N20U users also have the same problem. If you google [ note20 ultra gluegate ], you'll see that they're all very similar problems. Please you guys check your phone whether have this screen problem or not, such as use Chrome under darkmode.

By the way, complain about the. Samsung Australia repair center (Techwork). I discovered this problem two months ago. I first handed it to the Samsung service center and then the technician told me that everything was fine with the phone. At that time BNE was under Covid-19 lockdown and I needed my phone, so I didn't give it to them a second time soon. This problem has been bothering me more and more recently. A week ago I decided to give it to the service center for the second time and told them that I would provide evidence of the screen problem if the repair center contact me. However, without anyone giving me feedback, I was told that the repair was completed?! When I got the test report and my phone, I was told that [ The phone is fine and the problem cannot be repeated ], but the problem still exists on the phone. I hope a Samsung staff member can help me.

Hi @MrTan2001, I'm sorry about the experience you have has so far. First, here are some troubleshooting steps you can try:

Reboot your Note20 Ultra into Safe Mode: to do so Hold power > Restart > Hold volume key down until lock screen shows 'Safe mode'.

You can tell if you are in Safe Mode as it will be written in the bottom left corner of the screen. If you can see that there is no longer a problem in Safe Mode, then you must have installed an app which is interfering with the phones functionality. You will need to identify and remove the third party app before you are able to use the phone functionality again. To exit safe mode, please restart the phone.

If the issue persists in safe mode, I would recommend that you send an Error Report via Samsung Members so that our team can check remotely that it is not a software issue. To send an error report, please see the guide here: https://r1.community.samsung.com/t5/tips-tricks/sending-error-reports/td-p/9617204

Let us know how you go.

I tried it and there was no improvement under safe mode. It looks more like a hardware or system problem. I've reported through Samsung Members but so far have received no further reply. BTW, by communicating with other Note20 Ultra users in the same situation, this phenomenon occurred after a system upgrade. This reminds me of the Apple iPhone12 series of screen problem incidents. Apple fix that by FOTA. I hope it helps.

What was the solution to this issue? My phone had the same bright rectangle show up in the middle of the screen today.

Hi @Dogzbody, thanks for reaching out. Safe mode is a mode that will disable non essential functions of your device. It will not delete your data.

This can help us determine whether an issue is related to the core function.
