When making phone calls from my Galaxy Note 20 Ultra 5G the recipient complains they cannot hear me due to terrible interference such as screeching noises. I have changed the sim for a new one as was suggested to me but it is still happening. TIA

Could be an interference from something nearby? This happens to me when we have a whatsapp group call and there are multiple phones nearby.

It could be a microphone issue.

Could also be dust in there that has built up. I've had similar and had to clean my microphone (carefully) with pure alcohol wipes.

How new is your phone? There may be an obstruction in your microphone like dust

Try setting your phone to 4G/LTE, Settings, Connections, Network, and test. At that time also note down ON PAPER the Access Point Name (APN) settings 100%. correctly.
I am thinking
1. Settings between you and the cell tower,. To check Google "Telstrs/Optus whichever is correct APN 5G settings", compare with what you have written down, correct if necessary.
2. Difficulty due to distance from cell tower. To check load app Aus Phone Towers. Find left drag in menu and enter your phone detsils, e.g. Telstra, 5G, etc. Click on cell location coloured item to view map showing if in range. Setting for 4G will show a different map to 5G.
3 If not set already Google e.g "Telstra wi-fi calling". This allows calls via wi-fi if in range to your home wi-fi network. See if phone calls work better using this.
