Galaxy SMost people seem to be using an app called AODnotify.
If only Samsung allows further configuration of their selfish camera lighting function.

Galaxy SWe need the light indicator back. I don't hold my phone in my hand all the time and I am not by it. So, how would I know I had a missed text or call without picking it up and opening it 🤔. This was a big mistake on Samsung part. Us old folks are not like the younger generation. I don't need my phone in my hand 24/7.

Galaxy SLed colored light notifications was such a handy function, can't believe they took it off. Is there a way they can bring it back in an update. I'm using AOD notify and not that happy with it.

Galaxy SAs far as I can tell, that only works when you're playing games or streaming something full screen. Not when your phone is locked.

Galaxy SHoley Light is a good app which adds a ring around the camera hole to act as a notification light. It is an open-source app, so you don't have to worry about any privacy concerns.
