Has any S20 FE owner noticed that when AOD is on, the top portion of the screen is just dim and not pitch black? There's like a bar about half an inch from the top bezel that is not completely black. Not obvious in day light, only noticeable in the dark.

The screen is working perfectly and has no other issues apart from the AOD. I have already performed basic troubleshooting advised by Support including *#0*# > Tap "Red", "Green", or "Blue" etc.

I assume it's just the AOD and not a screen problem.

Do you think this can be addressed in upcoming updates?

I followed the steps but my phone will still proceed with restarting. It doesn't go to recovery mode.

You need to have something connected to the usb type-c port when attempting to boot to recovery mode. So connect your type-c earphones or cable, then try again.

I noticed  same problem on my s20 fe (g780g).

When aod refreshes, it changes the looks of the screen, i can see pixels are just very dark, not off. Also some parts of screen are less or more 'off', it changes with every refresh. This looks like changing smudges, visible in dark room. I hope it is not a hardware problem.

Yes, me too facing same problem, i also had issues with aod..where the background is still light up (very dim)..this will be an issue as i always turn on AOD..my phone got hot..why AOD doesnt turn into pitch black like other samsung phone..they should fix this issue..i believe this is software issue..the AOD is very dim and the background still light up(very dim)..Samsung please take this issue seriously, as this phone already more than 1 year..this is AMOLED screen!! Why you cannot make AOD on S20 FE  like other samsung phone...quite sad spend money on this phone when i get AOD like this

I can see this was not answered, I am experiencing this in my A52s. I read that the auto brightness of AOD os rhe culprit, need to off that and set max brightness of AOD.
