Galaxy SVery disappointed with my s24 phone purchased only 4 weeks ago. Facebook app constantly stops working after being open a little while.
Refreshing does not work . The only thing that works is to close app and re-open. Facebook is the only app this is happening with.
I have visited lots of forums about the issue and tried everything people suggest and no luck fixing this. I have uninstalled fb , reinstalled it , updated, cleared cache, restarted phone, etc.
It is infuriating to have to keep closing app and reopening it and especially losing text that I had started typing in or photos I had been uploading.. My previous Samsung s20 had none of these problems.
Any help/advice would be much appreciated

Galaxy SWhen you are given advice by amateurs like myself then it may be insufficient in terms of what to do and what order. For instance when I suggest clearing the caches of both Facebook and Google Play services I should have said Facebook first and then Google Play services. The reason being that Google Play services re-establishes itself by drawing together information from different caches. Not that I now think this is the issue here. It is just something to be aware of.
The next thing to note is what factory reset does. I asked myself earlier today whether factory reset really took everything back to factory level. And the answer is no. "Please Note: Performing a Factory Data Reset will erase all personal data and downloaded apps." So it doesn't affect apps which come pre-installed. This means changes to these apps are not reversed.
What next to try? The good thing is that Facebook works when initially opened indicating the problem relates to the settings in another app which Facebook uses for some reason. BTW not all problems can be resolved, S22 was something of a lemon and Samsung gave up on some of the problems. The next good thing, subject to your searches, is that a number of other users don't have this problem meaning it is potentially fixable.
Before proceeding further, may I mention that searching using Google is where I get many of my answers, as at the top. Did you know that your post is itself in Google? Google has an Advanced search Given the huge number of answers in Google searching is an art. Using phrases like "Facebook crashes" will reduce the number of irrelevant replies. To use the advanced features in your browser line type "Google Advanced Search" then open it. You will find features like phrases, or domain, use ".au" to limit to Australia (I wouldn't in this case) or language = english US.
I have run out of things to suggest other than the following, open in Safe Mode, open iFacebook and use it. If it crashes we probably have a problem we can't solve. If it doesn't then we authorise an additional app and try again, and again until it crashes. That app is at least likely to beeither the problem or part of it. Have your Googled list of apps used by Facebook, wtitten or printed next to you, to help.
That's all folks other than to report back as if this doesn't work other members need to know..

Galaxy SI've had the exact same issue over the last couple of weeks. I assume it's something with the FB app as it's the only thing with a problem.
What I have just done today...that appears to have fixed it....is go to Settings/Apps/Facebook and in its settings turn OFF notifications. Since doing this it no longer crashes. I don't need the notifications as I open the app regularly anyway.

Galaxy SI am experiencing the same issue, and it is quite frustrating. I have to force stop the application every time I open it, which is very inconvenient.
For your information, I have never enabled notifications because I do not want to receive Facebook notifications. Despite this, the application still crashes. I believe this issue is specific to the Samsung S24, as my wife has an iPhone and does not experience this problem.
